Esther Cadogan

Lead Physiotherapist & Clinic Manager

Esther Cadogan is the voice behind Physio Môn’s phone line, email and social media accounts. She opened the clinic in May 2017 and has grown it to the busy, successful clinic it is today.

Anglesey Chartered Physiotherapist Esther Cadogan

After graduating from Keele University as a physiotherapist in 2003, Esther returned to complete her MSc there in 2015. She’s worked in the NHS her whole career and six years ago joined the specialist spinal team, assessing and treating complex spinal conditions. For the past two years she also guest lectured at Bangor University sports science department. Teaching is something she really enjoys and hopes to do more of in the future.

Esther has lived on Anglesey almost all her life and now lives with her husband and two young children, Lottie and Jack. As a family they love keeping active and exploring all that Anglesey has to offer. She also loves paddleboarding, running and photography (all the photographs up in the clinic are her own).

Over time Physio Môn has expanded and now has a team of three, it has also moved to its own dedicated clinic, complete with Snowdon view (on a clear day!)

Esther’s vision for the clinic is not only for it to continue to be a successful Physiotherapy practice on Anglesey but also for it to make a difference in the community. The clinic supports the local homeless centre and women’s refuge centre by holding annual collections, and since December 2019 Physio Môn has raised nearly £2200 for local charities through hosting walking events, including the Anglesey Garden Mile event during the height of the Coronovirus Lockdown – we had 166 people all over the country walking one mile in their gardens to raise money for charity!

In May 2018 Esther set up a free walking group called Môn Walkers, to encourage people to improve their health and fitness as well as making friends. You can read more about the walking group here.

“I am passionate about all things physiotherapy and making the clinic a success – I love what I do – no two days are the same and it’s an honour to be able to make a difference, however small, in people’s lives. I am proud of Physio Môn, my team of friends who work with me and all it has achieved so far and I look forward to seeing it continue to grow and make a difference for many years to come.” – Esther

“I had two total hip replacements within 12 months of each other – and before the age of 50! I’d struggled with horrendous pain and inactivity for a number of years which was finally eradicated with hip replacement surgery. Both surgeries left me with a bad limp, a waddle and very worrying knee pain which I didn’t think would ever get better. I went to see Esther and she was so reassuring and explained that all my symptoms were perfectly normal after the surgery I’d had. Esther gave me specific exercises to strengthen my horribly weak muscles and to wake them up! I diligently did as I was told and the improvement started almost immediately. After only three sessions spaced over a period of time, with different exercises added on each visit, I can honestly say I am a new person. All my symptoms have gone and I am so happy. Esther is so knowledgeable and reassuring and I consider myself very fortunate to have a service like Physio Môn on our doorstep. Thank you Esther…”
