After graduating from Keele University as a physiotherapist in 2003, Esther returned to complete her MSc there in 2015. She worked in the NHS for 20 years finishing in February 2024. For the past 10 years She worked as a spinal specialist physiotherapist within the spinal team, working closely with both The Walton Centre and Gobowen spinal Unit. As part of her role in the spinal team she would regularly give second opinions on patients with complex spinal presentations and, when appropriate, request investigations such as MRI scans, discussing the results and coming up with a plan with the patient.
She also worked for a couple of years as a guest lecturer in Bangor University Sports Science department and continues to have a love of teaching and guest speaking.
Esther has lived on Anglesey almost all her life and now lives with her husband and three children, Lottie, Jack and Oliver. As a family they love keeping active and exploring all that Anglesey has to offer. She also loves paddleboarding, running and photography.
In 2017 Esther founded Physio Môn, initially as a solo practitioner but quickly expanded to add more team members. Esther’s vision for the clinic is not only for it to continue to be a successful Physiotherapy practice but for it to also make a difference in the community. The clinic holds annual collections for the local women’s refuge centre, and since 2019 Physio Môn has raised thousands of pounds for local charities through fundraisers.
In May 2018 Esther set up a free walking group called Môn Walkers, to encourage people to improve their health and fitness as well as making friends. You can read more about the walking group here.
“I am passionate about all things physiotherapy and making the clinic a success – I love what I do – no two days are the same and it’s an honour to be able to make a difference, however small, in people’s lives. I am proud of Physio Môn, my team of friends who work with me and all it has achieved so far and I look forward to seeing it continue to grow and make a difference for many years to come.”

“I had two total hip replacements within 12 months of each other – and before the age of 50! I’d struggled with horrendous pain and inactivity for a number of years which was finally eradicated with hip replacement surgery. Both surgeries left me with a bad limp, a waddle and very worrying knee pain which I didn’t think would ever get better. I went to see Esther and she was so reassuring and explained that all my symptoms were perfectly normal after the surgery I’d had. Esther gave me specific exercises to strengthen my horribly weak muscles and to wake them up! I diligently did as I was told and the improvement started almost immediately. After only three sessions spaced over a period of time, with different exercises added on each visit, I can honestly say I am a new person. All my symptoms have gone and I am so happy. Esther is so knowledgeable and reassuring and I consider myself very fortunate to have a service like Physio Môn on our doorstep. Thank you Esther…”
